Vibration Isolation - Active Vibration Isolation Systems to Reduce Vibration
Vibration isolation is usually the process of isolating an item, like a piece of equipment from sources of vibration. Despite application differences, the concept of vibration isolation is the same across the board. There are passive vibration isolation systems and active vibration isolation systems. Passive vibration isolation systems generally consist of a spring and damper that do not respond to changes in environmental conditions. Active vibration isolation systems usually contain along with the spring, a feedback circuit that consists of a piezoelectric accelerometer, a controller, and an electromagnetic transducer. The acceleration or vibration is processed by the control circuit which allows the system to adjust itself in response to various conditions. For this reason active vibration isolation systems are considerably stronger at suppressing vibrations than ordinary passive vibration isolation or ordinary damping.
QRDC has extensive experience in both active and passive vibration isolation. Our engineers can customize a solution to meet both your performance and cost requirements. Browse our selection of prefabricated solutions such as tables, posts, mounts or even a pad or leg, if you cant find what you are looking for then give us a call and we will design a customized solution to meet your needs.
