AMD - Socket 462 (A) Quiet CPU Cooler CNPS5100-Cu CPU

Brand: Zalman
Details: Processor Cooling for Peace and Performance!

Rather than using clips, this unique cooler is mounted using screws through holes in the motherboard, and this means that it is amazingly versatile. Not only is it compatible with socket 423 Pentium 4 processors, it also works with Xeon socket 603 and AMD socket 462/socket A! It features an ultra-quiet 60mm fan and is effective up to 3 GHz. It comes presented in a box containing the heatsink/fan, Fan Mate speed controller, thermal compound, screws/bolts/washers, bag of spare parts and instructions.

Because of its excellent cooling performance, and relatively small form factor, this cooler is recommended for multiprocessor machines. With minimal CPU socket overhang, it is very unlikely that there will be any clearance problems in mounting two or more of these coolers adjacent to each other.

The speed of the fan is controlled using a Fan Mate variable voltage regulator, so you can set this manually to the speed you require, for best balance between noise and CPU temperature. At its lowest speed setting, adequate cooling is achieved even for the fastest processors, and the fan is almost completely inaudible.

It is recommended that you try to keep your CPU temperature below 70-75°C for reliable operation, but there will be no problem achieving this with the CNPS5100-CU cooler. In practice, temperatures as low as 35-50°C are often achto people who need a quiet computer, and also those who need minimum CPU temperature for best stability when overclocking (overclocking is done at your own risk).

IMPORTANT: To be able to successfully install this cooler, your motherboard needs to have four holes around the CPU socket as shown below. A S423 layout is pictured, but if the cooler is to be used with S603 Xeon or S462 AMD, similar holes must be present.

AMD - Socket 462 (A) Quiet CPU Cooler CNPS5100-Cu CPU - Quiet CPU Fans and Quiet Computer PC Parts by Zalman

AMD - Socket 462 (A) Quiet CPU Cooler CNPS5100-Cu CPU is a great Quiet CPU Fans and Quiet Computer PC Parts by Zalman. Enjoy the great selection of Quiet CPU Fans and Quiet Computer PC Parts

We carry a large selection of quiet CPU fans. Our products have been hand picked to ensure that you receive the most silent CPU fans available on the market. Eliminate loud CPU fan noise. Get rid of your noisey CPU fan. Purchase these to get rid of that loud CPU fan noise. Older CPU coolers used heat sinks with a relatively small surface area, coupled with a fixed RPM high-speed fan to move air over the small surface area. Newer CPU cooling systems may use copper instead of aluminum for better heat transfer, and elaborate heat sink designs that dissipate more heat into the air. If you couple these with a large fan, the fan can rotate more slowly, further reducing noise levels even further. This is a common technique to get a quiet computer fan. Some heat sink/fan designs, as used in some products pioneered by Zalman, don’t couple the two components directly; the fan used in this example may be much larger than traditional designs, and suspended over the silent CPU heat sink by a special frame that connects to the PC chassis. This reduces CPU fan noise dramatically due to using a larger fan, and minimizing noise-causing air flow effects and helps create a silent CPU fan for your needs. Quiet CPU fans are the best solution for loud CPU fan noise. Silent CPU fans can do just a good of a job cooling the CPU but without the loud CPU fan noise. There are also some new models of CPU coolers and quiet CPU fans that have special sealed internal channels which contain chemical gases that cool more efficiently than traditional pure solid elements such as aluminum or even copper.

Some newer CPU's themselves had an improved physical architecture incorporating a narrower internal buss width and generates far less heat as a result. This combined with silent CPU fans can help lower CPU fan noise. Quiet CPU fan upgrade kits usually include thermal “grease,” a paste that maximizes thermal conductivity between the heat sink and the CPU. But it’s worth spending a little more for something like Arctic Silver 5, which has a special formulation incorporating a high-density filling of micro silver and thermally conductive ceramic particles. Get rid of that loud CPU fan and replace it with a silent CPU fan today. Work in peace with a quiet CPU fan.
